Most Claremont consultants undertake coaching and team development.
Keri Phillips' book 'Coaching in Organisations; Between the Lines', summarises our approach to coaching; order from Sam at contact@claremont-mc.co.uk.
The introductory chapter and some reviews of the book can be read here.
The book seeks to go one further than detailing methods and approaches. We consider how coaching can be embedded in organisations so that it makes an impact. It brings attention to what happens when common methods seem either inappropriate or simply don't work.
You may also be interested in Keri's other books, 'Intuition in Coaching', 'Transactional Analysis in Organisations' and 'Creative Coaching – from doing to being'; to order copies, send an email to contact@claremont-mc.co.uk. Keri is currently writing another book called 'Fragmentation and Integration'.
We are now offering training in Advanced Coaching, aimed at the seasoned practitioner. Topics include intuition, complexity, finding meaning, ethics, deepening your connection to the coachee, supervision, vulnerabity and love. Contact Jean at contact@claremont-mc.co.uk.
With regards to team development, we never seem to cross the same river twice! Our work is very varied and designed for each situation and client – indeed exhaustingly so!
Sometimes sessions are focused in a serious manner on business outcomes; sometimes we use actors and write vignettes. For one project we developed a board game called 'valuables'; this was extremely effective in getting participants to see things from a different perspective. From time to time we have developed quite complex simulations using the outdoors; for one recent client we ran a two-day team event for twenty-five people which was extremely challenging (for us as well as them!) and worked brilliantly.
Other work builds on Myers Briggs, or SDI or custom-designed 360 processes and is designed to promote openness, understanding of differences and improve communication.
Often, coaching and team development sessions form part of larger organisation development projects and are integrated with other initiatives.
Below are some articles we have written on the subject of coaching and team development that you may find of interest.
